LEARN TO SEW 2

We believe sewing is magical, empowering, & rewarding!

This class is for kids and tweens aged 9-14 who know how to operate a sewing machine and want to improve their skills!

Sewing is not only a life skill, it allows you to exercise fine motor control, hand-eye coordination, spacial awareness, focus, and problem solving skills. Also there is no confidence boost like seeing what you are capable of creating!

You’ve got the basics down…it’s time to expand your repertoire with some new techniques. This course is the next step towards sewing clothing, bags, lingerie, and pretty much everything else! You’ll make 3 rad projects:

  • Zippered Pouch

  • Tote Bag

  • Full Length Apron

Learn how to:

  • Work w/ heavier fabrics + bigger projects

  • Work w/ zippers, webbing, twill tape

  • Create boxed corners

  • Sew an appliqué pocket

  • Faux mitred corners

  • Make a double-fold hem

  • Make a single-fold hem

  • Make pin tucks

Skill Level: You must be comfortable sewing OR have completed Intro to Sewing 1.

Class Size: 6 people

How Long: 4 classes @ 2 hours each

Where: The Neon Needle Studio @ Bloor + Christie (647A Bloor Street West)

Cost: $400 + HST - Includes ALL material
