QUILT LAB
Total beginners welcome as well as advanced crafters!
In this 3 hour Workshop, kids & tweens age 9-14 will make a cute Mini-Quilt (wall hanging? pot-holder?) while exercising their creative muscles…and their fine-motor-skills-muscles.
We LOVE any opportunity to play with different fabric colours, patterns, and textures — this workshop allows kids & tweens to explore and experiment while learning the fundamentals of hand-sewing.
The best part is how quickly this craft can pull you into the calm, happy magic of making with your hands.
No experience required! Beginners as well as more advanced crafters will find joy in this project and leave with practical skills. (Even us professional sewists have really enjoyed the creative exploration of this project!).
Learn how to:
Tie a fat knot in your thread (our fave sewing trick!)
Hand-sew w/ a Running Stitch
Make a Quilt
Apply this knowledge to other projects and DIY mending + repairs
