LEARN TO SERGE

What is a serger? If you look inside your t-shirt, you’ll see loopy threads— because it’s made with a SERGER not a sewing machine.

  • Sweatshirts

  • T-shirts

  • Swimwear

  • Underwear

  • Sweat pants

  • Leggings

  • Hoodies…

…ALL begin with a serger!

If you want to work with stretch fabrics, this is the class. You’ll learn how to thread the serger, troubleshoot weird problems, and make a cute boxy sweatshirt, all while overcoming your fear and making the serger your best friend.

As always, ALL materials are included.

Learn how to:

  • identify the basic materials and tools of quilting

  • cut safely and accurately w/ a rotary cutter, quilting ruler and cutting mat

  • construct a sawtooth star quilt block

  • use 1/4” seam foot, walking / even-feed foot

  • make the foundational components of most traditional quilts: half-square triangles and flying geese

  • cut, piece, baste, quilt, trim, and bind a quilt

Skill Level: You should be comfortable on the sewing machine. Stretch fabrics are a whole different ballgame. We recommend making at least a dozen non-stretch projects before this class.
